Ascent First Aid Training Pty Ltd
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the services, courses, training programs, first aid/AED maintenance, materials, and website (collectively, the “Services”) provided by Ascent First Aid Training Pty Ltd (“Ascent First Aid”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). By enrolling in a course, purchasing Services, or using our website, you (“Participant”, “Client”, or “you”) agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Services
1.1 We provide nationally recognised and non-accredited first aid and CPR training courses.
1.2 We provide first aid kit and automated external defibrillator (AED) preventative maintenance and servicing for a recurring monthly fee.
1.3 Services may be delivered on-site at client locations unless otherwise agreed.
1.4 Pricing, availability, and scope of Services may be changed at our discretion, with reasonable notice where practicable.
1.5 Monthly fees cover consumable items only; replacement of containers, devices, or additional consumables may incur separate charges.
2. Enrolment and Eligibility
2.1 Participants must:
- Be 14 years or older (under 18 requires parental/guardian consent);
- Provide complete and accurate registration information;
- Present valid identification at course commencement;
- Meet any course-specific prerequisites as published.
2.2 Ascent First Aid may refuse enrolment, suspend, or cancel bookings if eligibility requirements are not met.
3. Fees, Payment, and Refunds
3.1 Fees are payable in full prior to course commencement unless otherwise agreed in writing.
3.2 Payment may be made by bank transfer or invoicing options.
3.3 Cancellation by Participant:
- ≥48 hours prior to course: full refund or transfer permitted.
- <48 hours or no-show: no refund.
3.4 Cancellation or Rescheduling by Ascent First Aid:
- Participants will be offered an alternative date or a full refund.
3.5 Refunds will be processed in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
4. Certification
4.1 Certificates of Completion or Statements of Attainment are issued only upon successful completion of all assessments and full payment of fees.
4.2 Certificates may be issued electronically unless otherwise requested.
5. Intellectual Property
5.1 All course materials, manuals, logos, text, graphics, and videos are the intellectual property of Ascent First Aid or its licensors.
5.2 You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, adapt, or exploit any materials without prior written consent.
6. Limitation of Liability
6.1 To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ascent First Aid (including its staff and contractors) is not liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages;
- Loss of income, business, or opportunity;
- Any other loss arising from participation in training or use of Services.
6.2 Australian Consumer Law Compliance:
- Nothing in these Terms limits rights under the ACL. If a service breaches a consumer guarantee, Ascent First Aid may:
- Provide the service again, or
- Cover the cost of the service provided by another provider.
7. Health, Safety, and Conduct
7.1 Participants must:
- Follow all health and safety instructions;
- Refrain from introducing hazards;
- Behave respectfully to instructors and peers;
- Avoid discriminatory conduct;
- Not attend under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
7.2 Misconduct, unsafe behaviour, or intoxication may result in cancellation of participation without refund.
8. Privacy
8.1 We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
8.2 Information is collected for training delivery, certification, compliance, and reporting purposes.

9. Force Majeure
9.1 We are not responsible for delays, cancellations, or failure to perform caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, public health emergencies, or government restrictions.
10. Termination
10.1 We may suspend or terminate access to Services for breach of Terms or misconduct, without prior notice.
11. Late Arrival and Early Departure
11.1 Late arrival may result in denial of entry; fees will not be refunded.
11.2 Withdrawal after course commencement:
- Generally non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Exceptions may apply for serious illness, personal emergency, compliance with health directives, or local emergencies, with reasonable notice and evidence.
12. Student Substitution
12.1 Substitution of participants is permitted with ≥5 business days’ notice.
12.2 Substitution for the same course incurs no additional fees.
12.3 Substitution for a different course may require payment of the difference or reimbursement of overpayment.
13. Governing Law
13.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and applicable Commonwealth laws.
13.2 Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the ACT.
14. Amendments
14.1 We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time.
14.2 Updated Terms will take effect immediately upon publication on our website.
